Government will prioritise Quran education and the spread of religious learning: President

The government will work to honour internationally awarded Quran memorisers and students and to further encourage Quran learning, President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said on Thursday (8 October). He made the remarks at Bangabhaban during a courtesy meeting with the winners of the 46th King Abdulaziz International Holy Quran Competition.

The President said it is a matter of pride and joy for the country that Bangladeshi contestants achieved such success against competitors from 133 countries. He congratulated the winners, their teachers, guardians and the institutions concerned.

He also restated the government's commitment to expanding religious education and ensuring due dignity for hafez and Islamic scholars.
